World History Syllabus
Course Description
This course is a study of both ancient and modern world history, including the foundation of civilizations, belief systems, commerce, exploration, Enlightenment, political revolutions, the Industrial Revolution, nationalism, imperialism through the world wars, the Cold War, the quest of countries seeking independence, and changes in current global patterns.
Grading Policy
Three types of grades shall be taken- daily (30%), homework (10%), and major (60%). Grades will be computed and reported using a standard percentage scale as follows:
Attendance
Coming to school is essential to your development and education. Students are expected to attend class daily and to arrive promptly without disrupting the learning environment.
Plagiarism and Cheating
Plagiarism and cheating are taken seriously, and I follow district policy concerning this issue. If a student is caught cheating or plagiarizing they will receive the consequence as stated in the school discipline policy statement. I will also request a conference with the student’s parents. Please do not cheat or plagiarize, as it is not worth the loss of trust, credibility and points.
